Privacy Policy
This English text is a reference translation provided for convenience. The Japanese version is the legally binding one; if the two differ, the Japanese version prevails.
Meliorra Inc. (Meliorra株式会社) ("we") sets out below how we handle information about users of Wattoku ("the Service"), in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws of Japan.

2. Information we collect
The Service simulates household costs for electricity, city gas, fiber internet and mobile plans, both on this website and through a tool server for AI assistants (an MCP server). On either route we never ask for, and never collect, information that identifies you — no name, address, phone number or date of birth. What we do collect is:
- Usage logs — when the simulator is used we record a summary of the inputs (area, usage and so on) and the response time. Usage figures, bill amounts and estimated costs are rounded into ranges (for example 350–399 kWh) before they are stored; the actual figures are not kept.
- Session identifier — to connect a simulation with a click on a sign-up link, we store a random identifier in your browser's session storage. It contains nothing tied to you personally and is discarded when you close the tab.
- Click logs — when a sign-up link is clicked we record the link code, user agent, referrer, and an identifier derived from your IP address by an irreversible hash. The hash uses a salt that changes daily, so raw IP addresses are never stored and long-term tracking is not possible by design.
- Shared links — if you share a result, the share link carries only signed range values, never the amounts themselves. Actual figures never appear in a URL, an image or a log.
- Enquiries — only if you email us do we receive your email address and whatever you write in the message.

4. Cookies
This site does not use cookies. Our analytics are cookie-less, so browsing the site requires no consent banner and no settings change on your part. Sites you reach through a sign-up link may use cookies for their own conversion tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser; the Service works normally either way.
One exception: on a device where the operator has opted out of their own analytics for testing, a single cookie is stored to remember that choice. Its value is fixed and contains nothing that identifies a person, and it is never issued to ordinary visitors.
To understand which pages are read, we record page views on our own server. We store only the page path without its query string, the referrer, an identifier derived from the IP address with a daily salt, and a temporary session ID that disappears when the tab is closed. No cookies and no advertising identifiers are involved.
5. Information transmitted to third parties
As required by Article 27-12 of Japan's Telecommunications Business Act, we disclose below the information that is sent from your device to outside parties when you use the Service.

6. Disclosure to third parties and use of processors
Except where required by law, we do not provide the information we collect to third parties. We may entrust storage and analysis to outside providers to the extent necessary for the purposes above. At present those providers are Vercel Inc. and Supabase Inc., both listed in the table above and both headquartered in the United States; data is stored in the Tokyo, Japan region. We confirm that a provider has appropriate security measures in place before selecting it, and we supervise providers as necessary.
7. Security measures
- Writes to the database are restricted to server-side credentials; nothing can be written directly from a browser.
- All traffic is encrypted with TLS.
- IP addresses are kept only as hashes with a daily salt, and amounts are rounded into ranges — the records are designed so that individuals cannot be identified in the first place.
- Access to the data is limited to the people who need it for their work, and credentials are managed accordingly.
8. Requests regarding retained personal data
As described above, the Service is designed not to collect identifying information. If we nevertheless hold retained personal data — for example because you contacted us — we will respond to requests from you or your representative for notification of the purpose of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of the content, suspension of use or erasure, suspension of provision to third parties, and disclosure of third-party provision records.
- How to request — email the contact point below. We may ask questions to confirm your identity.
- Fee — none.
- Response — as a rule within two weeks of receipt, sent to the email address the request came from.
9. Retention period
The logs we collect (page views, simulations and sign-up link clicks) are held in an access-controlled database and anything older than 13 months is deleted automatically every day. Thirteen months is the shortest period that still allows a comparison with the same month of the previous year. Records of chat usage volume (which do not include the conversations themselves) are kept for cost management, but the hash identifying the sender is likewise erased after 13 months. Enquiry correspondence is deleted once the matter is closed and the necessary period has passed.
